Mapping of the European textile, clothing, footwear and leather territories
In order to identify geographically the textile, clothing,
leather and footwear territories in the EU 27, ACTE has elaborated
a number of maps at NUTS2 level (regions). The data source of all maps is
Eurostat. The maps include data from 2000, 2005, 2006 and 2007 of Section
D (Manufacturing) according to the NACE Rev. 1.1 system of classification.
The specific divisions taken under consideration are divisions
17 (Manufacture of textiles), 18 (Manufacture
of wearing apparel, dressing and dyeing of fur), and 19
(Tanning and dressing of leather; manufacture of luggage, handbags, saddlery,
harness and footwear).
The maps illustrate both the share of textile, clothing,
leather and footwear sectors in total industrial employees and the
density of employees of these sectors within the
different European regions.
