XVI ACTE General Assembly in Lodz

On 17th May, ACTE hold its XVI General Assembly in Lodz, Poland. In the framework of this meeting, the conference InTexT – Innovation in textile territories was organised to discuss about the importance of innovation both for territories and enterprises and technology centres.
The General Assembly was chaired by the President of the General Assembly Jerzy Kropiwnicki, ACTE President Teo Romero and Executive Secretary Fabio Giovagnoli. The main results of the General Assembly were as follows:
  • Approval of new requests for membership: Effective members: Câmara Municipal de Covilha (Portugal), Municipality of Stip (Macedonia) and the Consorci per l'Ocupació i la Promoció Econòmica del Vallès Occidental (Spain) Adherent members: FITEX, CITTA (Spain), ADRAVE, ANIT-LAR (Portugal) and INCDTP (Rumania);
  • Adoption of the Lodz Declaration on Innovation which includes a set of requests needed to create an environment favourable to creativity and innovation in Europe;
  • Constitution of an R+D working group with the participation of 10 European technology centres. The aim of this group is to promote the transfer of knowledge and establishing synergies among the adherent members of ACTE and to reinforce their role within the association, through the preparation and submission of joint R+D+I project proposals.
  • The Assembly took positive stock of the accessions to the Petition Fashion and Health: the document is already supported by 160 institutions and will be handed over to the main representatives of the European institutions. On 16th May, ACTE Executive Secretary Fabio Giovagnoli presented the document to EU Commissioner of Consumer Protection Meglena Kuneva during a meeting in Prato (Italy);
  • Presentation of maps of the textile, clothing, leather and footwear territories of the EU27 at NUTS 2 level elaborated by the Diputació de Barcelona;
