ACTE participates in local event of Open Days

In the framework of the Open Days 2009 - European Week of Regions and
Cities - the Diputación de Barcelona organised on 27 October the local
event "The participation of local governments in European
networks - the added value for territories". The event aimed
at debating on how European networks can represent an asset for local
governments in the current economic situation.
According to President Teo Romero, the experience of
ACTE shows that the participation of local governments in European networks
is important for the following reasons:
- To join forces and speak with one voice
- To learn from good practices and experiences of other territories
- To facilitate the preparation and management of successful projects
- To promote the networking of other key players (textile museums, technology and research centres, universities, etc.) of the different territories
All speakers agreed that under the current economic situation it is more than ever important to participate in networks in order to benefit from shared synergies between the different local governments. This is true for the exchange of both the analysis of and the responses to the crisis.
