ACTE General Assembly approves strategic projects for 2010
Molise Region, City Tetovo and Organic Exchange join ACTE

The XVIII ACTE General Assembly, held on 28th May in Guimarães (Portugal) and chaired by the President of the Assembly, Tomasz Sadzynski, the ACTE President, Teo Romero, the Executive Secretary Giorgio Silli, and the Mayor of Guimarães, Antonio Magalhães, adopted the Activities Report 2009 of the Presidency and Executive Secretariat and the strategic projects for 2010. The Molise Region (Italy) and the City of Tetovo (FYRM) are new members of the network.

Teo Romero and Giorgio Silli presented to the General Assembly the Activities Report which includes the actions carried out in 2009 in the fields of enlargement, communication, European lobbying and strategic projects.

Amongst the main activities realised in 2009 are the organisation of missions to Austria, Bulgaria and Lithuania with the aim to enlarge the network, the celebration of the first edition of Badalona Moda and a conference on the future of the footwear sector in Macerata (Italy) in the framework of the Thematic Year 2009 on Innovation. As to European projects, members were informed about the Eurotex ID and Texmedin projects which emerge from the network of textile museums of the association.

The General Assembly approved the strategic projects of the association for 2010: the organisation of the touring exhibition Futurotextiles in different cities of the network, the realisation of the commemorative publication of the 20th Anniversary of ACTE and the creation of a network between the different competitions for young designers which are organised in different ACTE member territories.

Furthermore, ACTE members agreed to celebrate the next Executive Committee in Tetovo (FYRM) and the General Assembly 2011 in Barcelona which will mark the end of the current mandate of the Presidency and Executive Secretariat.

Finally, the Assembly approved the accession as new effective members of the Molise Region (Italy) and the City of Tetovo (FYRM) and of Organic Exchange (Spain) as new adherent member.

On 29th May, in the framework of the Assembly, a visit to the City of Vigo (Spain) was organised where ACTE members were received by the Mayor of the City, Abel Caballero, and the City Councillors of Economic Promotion, Santos Hector Rodríguez, and of Economy and Finance, Raquel Díaz. During the visit members became acquainted with the interesting experience of TEXVIGO, a cooperative of businesses formed to create a business park for the textile sector, introduced by the General Secretary of the Confederation of Textile Industries of Galicia, Alberto Rocha.
