FUTUROTEXTILES in Córdoba - 3rd May to 3th June 2011
The city of Córdoba (Spain) hosted the Futurotextiles from 3rd May to 3rd June, a scientific exhibition that pools science, technology and the art in the textile, in order to foster the high potential of the textile in Europe.
Centro Tecnológico Textil CITTA, which is one of the adherent members of ACTE, has organized the exhibition and other activities in parallel, with Lille3000 and the support of ACTE.
- Futurotextiles, the exhibition, that has allowed to the citizens to approach the textile industry and their applications to the citizens. They have had the opportunity to discover a great diversity of different uses and functions of the textile in the XXI century.
- 7 Technical workshops that were leaded by different experts, researchers and enterprises, with the main aim to offer to the textile industry the last innovations in the sector.
- Pitex 2011, a prize competition addressed to the researchers of the territory (Andalusia – Spain) in order to promote the innovation through some research projects based on the transfer of technology to the textile & apparel industry.
- “Emprende Textil” (Entrepreneurship Textile), it is also a prize competition to launch innovative business models in the textile & apparel industry, developed by medium or high school students.
- 2011: International Year for the Chemistry. To commemorate it, there was organized a conference entitled “The innovation in the textile processes and products of the XXI century based in the Chemistry”, and four workshops called “Discover the chemistry of the plants, its color and smell”.
The reception of the exhibition Futurotextiles and all the activities organized was extremely positive among all the visitors, participants and collaborators. The visitors could appreciate the importance of the textile industry in the territory, and the new challenge that it represents at present. The textile companies had the opportunity to deepen in the last international research projects, innovations, new technologies and products developed at an international scope. Finally, all the events were a good way to generate synergies between industry-University- Technological Centers and I+D groups.
Futurotextiles has become one of the most relevant projects carried on by ACTE in their partner’s territories, in collaboration with Lille3000. It was in Barcelona last February, to continue in Córboda in May, and it will be in Prato (Italy, 30th September to 13th November) and Ronse (Belgium, 2nd December to 15th January 2012). It is foreseen their presence in Lodz (Poland) next April 2012, and in Lille on October 2012.
