Project duration: From January 1995 to Mai 1998
Abstract:

The target of the ADAPTEX project activities were both active textile employees and recently laid off labour. The project's approach was comprehensive as it embraced a wide range of fields, such as corporate services, policies to promote self-employment, training for active workers and workers made redundant, diversification towards new economic activities.

The overall objectives of the project were to enhance the professional competences and the training of active workers of the textile and clothing sector, to target the sectors redundancies with a diversified, that is multi-sectoral, approach, and to enhance the labour and advisory services offered by the project partners.

The main activities of the project were the following:
  • Realisation of the research study "The textile sector, a territorial approach"
  • Advisory services to SMEs in 3 different areas: information and consulting (transformations of the economic context, innovation in management, elaboration of business plans, subsidies, labour hiring, industrial sites), support services to lifelong-learning (information, design and preparation of study plans), and technological consulting (technological applications, technology programmes, technological resources)
  • Training actions aimed at adapting the sector’s labour to the conditions of structural, technological and functional changes
  • Labour insertion services to attend the workers in the process of professional reinsertion
  • Professional orientation and consultancy services to inform and orientate workers towards relocation and self-employment
  • Pilot projects in the field of self-employment
