Abstract:
The general objective of the EUROINFOR project was to inform European scholars (between 15 and 18 years) about the principles, objectives and implications of the Amsterdam Treaty and to raise their awareness of the process of European construction.
The project activities were divided into parallel actions in each of the project territories and transnational activities carried out jointly by all project partners.
Parallel actions:
- Information sessions on the European construction in the participating secondary schools. A total of 768 scholars participated in these sessions.
- Realisation of works on the European construction: individual or group works on topics discussed during the information sessions (articles, drawings, audiovisual activities, etc.). All works were exhibited during the final conference of the project.
- Selection of the best works: the 52 scholars whose works have been selected were invited to participate in the final conference
Transnational actions:
- Organisation of the conference "The European Union: the Amsterdam Treaty and the Euro" on 30th May 1998 in Guimarães, Portugal.

- The Euro
- Free Movement and Security within the European Union
- Employment and the rights of European citizens
- Release of an information leaflet on the European Union and the Amsterdam Treaty
