The 2018 Congress of Dornbirn will count on more than a hundred conferences by experts in the field of academical research and industry in its 57th edition, to be celebrated on the 12-14 September.
In the last years the Dorbirn congress has become a global brand. Its internationalisation has been promoted and natural fibers will be contemplated but it will maintain the European roots. A change in the brand will support this efforts. The Dornbirn Man-Made Fibers Congress will change its name to Dornbirn Global Fibers Congress (Dornbirn-GFC).
The «global brand« character is reflected in the growing number of participants and their international origin. In the last edition attendants from 70 new companies were registered. In total, more than 700 participants from 30 countries visited Dornbirn.
The conferences in the next edition will be related to: innovation in fibers, transport and mobility, recycling-circular economy, generation and energy storing management and technologies for superficial modification and additive manufacturing.
Due to the great interest on industry and trade and the strong support of the European Commission, Circular Economy is the new key topic of the Congress. A round table has been organised also about this topic, with the participation of ISWA – International Solid and Waste Association, which counts in approximately 4.000 members around the world. New focuses will be discussed with all the relevant agents of the textile value change.
The congress counts also on: Lenzing (fibers producer), CIRFS (European association of fibers) and the German fibers association IVC, and special support from the Voralberg Region and the City of Dornbirn (Germany).
Moreover, there is a collaboration with Messe Frankfurt and SALTEX fair (smart textiles and materials with high performance, which will take place on the 12-13 September).
