Making vocational education and training (VET) a first choice

Making vocational education and training (VET) a first choice: Access to skills for jobs, social cohesion and equality

The new European Skills Agenda is providing policymakers with another opportunity to raise the profile of vocational education and professional training to levels of greater visibility, attractiveness and relevancy to the needs of the labour market. The conference will be an opportunity to share best practices but also challenges from across Member States and from social partners who have been active in promoting work-based learning using European tools for inclusivity.
The conference is the Presidency’s contribution to support the European Alliance for Apprenticeships (EAfA) and aims at addressing the current challenges posed by unemployment, low-skilled adults, migrants and refugees in the context of agreed European policies and tools that already address these concerns.
