The EU-TEXTILE2030 World Class Cluster is organizing its first business mission to Colombia from July 23rd to 27th 2018 in parallel to its participation at Colombiamoda 2018 + Textiles2 in Medellin from July 24th to July 26th where the European partnership will have a dedicated booth to display and highlight innovative advanced textile materials provided by clusters’ members.

Colombiamoda + Textiles2 is one of the largest trade fairs for the textile industry in Latin America with over 21.500 participants from 56 countries. Several events are run in parallel to the trade fair like the Knowledge Pavilion, a thematic conference where 2018 main themes are circular economy and digitalization. The conference theater has a capacity up to 1.600 people and it is live streamed throughout Latin America.

AEI Tèxtils, the Catalan technical textiles cluster who is the leader of the business mission to Colombia, and UP-TEX, the northern France technical textiles cluster, will give talks at the Knowledge Pavilion focused on sustainability and circular economy in the textile industry where several European projects will be highlighted. 

The business mission, aims to explore the Colombian market with focus on advanced textile material’s final applications, to open new business opportunities for European SMEs and to build strategic alliances with Colombian stakeholders in the textile and their final applications’ sectors. 

The EU-TEXTILE2030 partnership will also meet with a broad range of stakeholders from the Colombian textile sector including clusters, business associations, research facilities and related government initiatives. 

During the mission, the EU-TEXTILE2030 partnership (formed both by cluster staff and some of their associated SMEs) will participate will visit key research facilities and several leading companies from Colombia. 

The EU-TEXTILE2030 stand at Colombiamoda 2018 + Textiles2 will provide high visibility of all the clusters of the partnership and their members in the Colombian market.
